How to Set Up a Digital Wallet

What is a Digital Wallet?

A digital wallet, also known as an e-wallet, is an online service/ software/ electronic device that securely stores your crypto, NFT’s, and allows us to pay from our financial accounts. They eliminate the need to carry around a physical wallet. Some well known digital wallets are Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. However, in the Web3/Crypto space one of the most common digital wallets is MetaMask.

How to set up a MetaMask?

1. Download the app from the app store on your phone or download the extension on your computer browser with the Google Chrome extension using the link https://metamask.io to easily connect to your MetaMask wallet.
2. Next you will need to create your wallet by selecting “Create New Wallet.” From there you will be provided with a seed phrase that you should write down somewhere physical, and not keep it online for safety reasons, in case you forget your password. It is essential that you never share your seed phrase as it will give access to all your funds.
3. Create a password for your MetaMask wallet, and that’s it!
4. The address to your digital wallet can be found and copied by clicking the three dots and then clicking “Copy Address to Clipboard.”
